Aledo High School Valedictorian Cody Bradford Parents Debbie & Randy Bradford GPA 107.95 “I want to go all the way to the show, MLB is the goal,” says this left-handed pitcher who will be attending Baylor University in Waco this fall on a baseball scholarship. He doesn’t care which major league team he plays for, he just wants to continue playing ball after college. His best memory in high school is playing baseball, this year the Bearcats lost in the area playoffs, and his junior year they played in the state 5A semi-finals in Round Rock. He’s looking forward to playing base- ball in Waco in their stadium which was named by college coaches as the nation’s number three college baseball stadium according to a Baseball America survey. While at Baylor he will be majoring in engineering and business and is looking forward to seeing the Baylor Bears play football in their new stadium. He doesn’t have any plans for after college that does not include him spending time on the pitcher’s mound, however. He’ll miss the outdoor life, hunting and fishing he enjoys in Parker County. “I’m an avid duck and deer hunter,” he said. He also likes fishing for bass in local area stock tanks. Salutatorian Austin Dobransky Parents Tracy & Eric Dobransky GPA 107.7 This Aledo High graduate loves sports, in fact his favorite high school memory is watching the Aledo Bearcats win state. He will be attending Texas A&M and majoring in business, but wants to do something to continue to feed his interest in sports. “If I could combine my business degree with a sports setting that would be great,” he said. He moved to Aledo in 7th grade, so his family doesn’t have a long-standing Aggie tradition, but he had several adults in his life that were important to him including his youth pastor, a friend’s parents and several teachers who he described as positive influences who helped him make his choice to further his education in College Station. He is looking forward to cheering on the Aggies in Kyle Field this fall and will be attending Fish Camp this summer to learn all the Aggie traditions.
