Day did her homework and tried
to find some history on Kit.
“A lot of times if you can find
who owned these horses when they
were great, those people will want
them back,” Day said.
There was a possibility of this
horse being the champion heeling
horse named Chillin’ Jones.
Everything else matched, down
to the oddly crooked star on his
forehead. They needed a picture of
Chillin’ Jones’ back legs.
“The girl who used to own him
still had papers for him,” Day said.
“The white mark on his back left leg
didn’t match.”
But, that’s OK. Today, Kit is
getting used to his unbelievable
streak of good luck. Instead of
becoming cat food, he’s Jenni Day’s
new darling on Day Dream Ranch.
On the day we met him, he
was enjoying a spa day with Jenni
pampering him.
“It’s obvious that someone once
loved this horse,” she said. “He’s a
