It was completed by Kelly Graham and unveiled by Saunders in 1999 in an effort to increase awareness in the community about the sport of cutting. “Parker County is the ‘Cutting Horse Capital of the World’ just as Fort Worth is the ‘City of Cowboys and Culture’ – and both are critical to the history and success of the National Cutting Horse Association,” said Jim Bret Campbell, NCHA Executive Director. “A significant percentage of our top riders and horses, who are icons in the horse industry, are located right here in Weatherford. It’s a huge part of ranching and western heritage that many of the folks here aren’t aware of, and they’re missing out. We like to encourage residents of Parker County to get acquainted with this group. Most of the top ranches and breeding farms welcome visitors and are happy to give ranch tours. “If you appreciate western heritage and the cowboy culture, you can’t live in a better place than Parker County.”
