horse owners from Parker County.
The NCHA Summer Spectacular,
which runs from mid-July through the
first part of August, also attracts the
industry’s top 4-, 5- and-6-year-old
cutting horses and awarded nearly
$2.5 million in prize money in 2014.
The Fort Worth events attract the
serious cutting competitors and some
of the biggest names in the business,
which is why the roads from Weatherford to Fort Worth will be highly
decorated with big rigs heading to
and from the cutting during these
shows.
But cutting is also alive and well
outside of Parker County. There are
thousands of weekend shows nationally and internationally, which is
where the majority of cutting horse
enthusiasts get their start.
