Dustin is
planning on
a future in
engineering
at the
University
of Texas
at Austin
but hasn’t
decided
between
mechanical or aerospace as his area
of focus. “Going into it they are both
are about the same until later on. I
want to be involved with a space or
technology company,” he said. He
will always remember being at Aledo
High School during their back-toback state football championships.
He participated in cross examination
debate where at the state meet they
debated economic engagement
between the U.S. and Cuba. What
he will miss the most about Parker
County will be the people. “Everyone
here is really nice. At all the
restaurants and even at the barber
shop down the street everyone talks
to you.”

Cassie
Oswood
is not just
moving
away from
Brock for
college,
she will be
going across
the pond
for a time
while attending Arcadia University
in Pennsylvania studying creative
writing and journalism. “I’ve always
wanted to travel and I was dead set
on studying at Oxford. I’ve always
enjoyed writing but just recently
decided that’s what I want to do
as a career,” she said. Arcadia
encourages study abroad programs
and Cassie will be heading to the
Sterling Campus in Scotland in the
spring and hopes to spend a later
semester or more time studying at
Oxford. At Brock she participated in
the UIL one-act play competition and
performed a portion of “The Anatomy
of Gray.” Since she’s moving so
far from home, Oswood said, “I’m
going to miss the scenery down
here. I’m used to the small town
and countryside. Where I’m going is
more urban. It’s going to be a little
different from Brock.” She’s never
been to Europe, so she’s looking
forward to traveling overseas because
she hopes to eventually write for a
magazine like National Geographic,
or Time to pay the bills while
working on her novel.

Rachel
Williams
has been in
Brock for
nine years,
and played
basketball
throughout
high school
going to
the state
championships three times and
winning twice. “My thing I will
always remember is playing
basketball because it really just took
up so much time and being so close
to those girls,” said Williams. She is
heading to TCU in the fall to study
business but her plans after that
are undecided. She is considering
entering her family’s business
making aerospace parts alongside
her dad Jon. “Brock is a really
nice community where you know
everybody and everybody knows
you. It’s really comfortable. This
is such a unique community and
everybody is so tight knit is probably
what I will miss the most,” she said.
