It’s that time of year again. You know, the one that
teachers yearn for and busy moms dread. School’s out
and summer is upon us. Your little ones at home will
soon start using that favorite phrase dreaded by moms
the world over, “I’m bored,” while they are surrounded
with tens of thousands of dollars of toys, electronics,
games and, perish the thought, a sunny day outside.
#1 Field Trip Friday
When my kids were small we instituted a day each week we called “Field Trip Friday.” Each Friday we would
plan a trip so it would get us up, dressed and out of the house. Some of them were big trips to another city or an
amusement park, some just to the library down the street, but the planning was what I wanted the kids to learn.
As they have gotten older, they get to plan the days together with my input. There are many things to do in and
around Parker County to keep moms and kids busy. I can’t promise that the “
