M ixed Siamese brother and sister Boogie and Cuddles have been attached since they were found together as kittens living under the house of an elderly couple. Friendly and cuddly, the kittens were loved in their quiet home for 13 years until the recent passing of their caretakers. Now the twins are without a home and are in need of someone willing to adopt or foster them until they find a permanent home. After the couple passed, their daughters began trying to find a home for the cats and reached out to Parker Paws, but their facilities were full. The ladies agreed to become courtesy fosters, making the cats the property of Parker Paws, but allowing them to remain in their home until there was space available. Both cats almost immediately confined themselves to a closet once they realized their owners wouldn’t be returning, and after two weeks of depression in the dark closet, the cats were removed from the home and placed in the Cat Adoption Center at PetSmart, returning to their old selves.  Boogie is the more outgoing of the two cats. He loves to greet visitors by rubbing against their legs or jumping in their lap to be petted. But as much as he appreciates being rubbed, his silky fur will make you not want to stop stroking him. He’ll explore your bags and lay on your wallet, probably to remind you of him later when you find cat hairs on both, but his glassy blue eyes will capture your heart with one glance. But, not even his adventurous nature can pull him away from Cuddles. Often grooming her and leading her on adventures she would otherwise be afraid to go on, Boogie is Cuddles’ caretaker.  “Though more skittish than Boogie, Cuddles is just as loveable. She’s slower to warm up to new people, but will be more attached once she gets to know them. Her lazier nature makes her the more laid-back of the two, and she is often described as a ‘lap cat,’” Parker Paws staff member Brenda said.  As her name implies, she’s always ready to snuggle and is a great companion to have on a rainy day when you want to spend a few hours in a book.  “Both cats would do best indoors in a quiet home, without children, and are looking to be kept together in a situation that is similar to the one they came from. Normally, older cats are more anti-social, but both are still friendly and have youthful personalities and energy levels,” Brenda said.  These cats have been without a home since the end of April and would love to be the pets of any animal lover that can provide for them. Both are vaccinated and ready to become companions. Anyone interested in adopting Boogie and Cuddles or fostering them can visit the cats at PetSmart in Weatherford at the Cat Adoption Center and fill out an adoption application on the Parker Paws website.
