1. Get your kids out to nature
at Clark Gardens
Nestled in the native woodlands and tucked
away down a country road in west Parker County
is a beautiful garden built from love. What started
as Max and Billie Clark’s private garden in 1972
is now a botanical masterpiece, sparked by Billie
Clark’s inspirations. In 1999, the Clark’s established
the Max and Billie Clark Foundation and donated
143 acres, including the gardens, to this new non-
profit organization. Now the gardens are a working
model of beautiful, yet sustainable, landscapes. On
April 22, 2000, Clark Gardens opened its gates to
the public and has been declared one of the most
beautiful gardens in the nation. Visitors may take a
photo journey of the making of Clark Gardens, and
read more about its unique history when they visit
the History House in the Park’s West Garden Area.
At Clark Gardens, the crew holds numerous
events through the summer in the gorgeous para-
disiac surroundings throughout the years, including
their annual train show that will be held on Sept. 1
and 2 with three different train clubs including the
North Texas Garden Railroad Club, North Texas T
Trak and the Tex-N Modular Railroad Club. Each
club will display their trains for the enthusiast to
enjoy, including with different loops and auto
switching displays.
