PCT: What do you do? DM: Facilitate the day-to-day operations, customer service and anything else that needs to be done. PCT: How did you get into this field? DM: I was laid off from the oil field in February, 2015. I was a directional driller. I decided to turn a lifelong hobby into a career. PCT: What made you want to start this business? DM: I felt like there was a demand in Weatherford for a one-stop shop for automotive enthusiasts — from maintenance to aftermarket to metal fabrication. PCT: What is the best part of your job? DM: Finding a solution to a customer’s problem that other shops couldn’t find, and usually for cheaper than they anticipated. Because we do everything, we look at the vehicle as a whole and we’re able to do things other shops can’t. PCT: What is the hardest part of your job? DM: Missing out on family functions and vacations in order to keep the business open and functioning. We’re open six days a week, Monday through Saturday, and answer NorTex Facebook messages around the clock. PCT: Do you plan on opening any more branches? Where? DM: We’ll cross that bridge when it comes. My fiancé, Ashley Reed, and I are about to start a new chapter in our lives and we aren’t sure where that might lead. PCT: Do you have any advice for others following in your footsteps? DM: Surround yourself with as much experience as you can. And don’t burn bridges within your field. We try our best to network with other business owners to offer superior service. PCT: What is something interesting about you that others may not know? DM: I don’t accept “they don’t make those” as an answer. I like a challenge and it has led to a Tundra dually, a 4-Runner on 40s (lifted) with a factory IFS, a convertible Civic in high school, a ’96 Explorer which became a roofless Bronco, and a 420-HP-per-wheel hatch (’93 Civic). I grew up rescuing parrots with my mom, Jerri Madonna, on our ranch here in Weatherford. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals and we had cows, horses, dogs, cats and a huge outdoor aviary for our parrots. And my catch phrase in high school was “one of one.” The local, honest and affordable credit repair solution!
