Modernist artist Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986). O’Keeffe is known for her New Mexican landscapes and, of course, her multihued flowers. As for the future, Sarah plans to continue her journey, to paint and expand, to hone her talents and perceptions. And perhaps to learn a bit more about the business side of art, how to sell her work, which has heretofore been given away to family members, displayed in her home, etc.  JULY 2015 PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY “Right now … it’s not like I’m not painting realistic right now, but I’m trying to get further into being aware of focal points in my paintings, and trying to learn how to capture light better,“ she said.    Sarah has lived in Weatherford five years and been involved with the Weatherford Art Association for two. The association named her Artist of the Month this past May and displayed her work at their just-off-the-Square gallery. Her six grandchildren — the children of three daughters: Christina, Susan and Elaine — range in age from 21 years old to 5 months. They are certainly inspirational. But for serenity, she will return to the canvas, that place where things come into sharp focus and stress recedes in the face of a peaceful, easy feeling. 48
