Helping People Manage the Risks of Everyday Life

Today , Kim and Craig Bagley both live , eat and sleep insurance . Curious , in view of the fact that , growing up , neither of them planned to go into the insurance business .

“ My dad wanted me to become a petroleum engineer ,” Craig Bagley said . “ But while I was in college , all you could hear on television news or read in the papers was about how the planet was running out of oil . I thought , ‘ Why would I want to get a degree to work in a dying industry ?’”
Then , Craig planned a career in banking — at the exact time that banks were failing around Texas . Deciding that it wouldn ’ t be a good time to pursue that career , he went to work for a close family friend in his State Farm Agency .
“ Shortly after that I realized that was exactly what I wanted to do ,” Craig said . “ It gave me the opportunity to be in the financial world , and help people .”
Kim Mader grew up in the insurance business in Weatherford , spending a lot of summer days working at her father ’ s agency . But , like so many young people , she didn ’ t want to do what her parents did . She studied zoology , earning her bachelor ’ s degree in science from Texas Tech University . Once she had her diploma , she secured a job with Aledo ISD , teaching science to teenagers .
By the end of the school year , Parker County was hit hard by a tornado . Her father ’ s office was swamped with claims . Kim was out for the summer , so like a dutiful daughter , she offered to help people with their claims .
“ I realized how much I loved helping people who really needed help ,” she said . “ I never went back to teaching .”
She went into the insurance business and has been exceptionally successful .
In a very short time , Kim Mader had her own highly successful State farm Agency in Cleburne .
Craig Bagley met Kim Mader through State Farm . They clicked right away . Their philosophies and principles were identical and they both saw the big picture . They were married and when Kim ’ s father decided to retire , they moved to Parker County and together they operated Mader-Bagley State Farm .

Helping People Manage the Risks of Everyday Life

Early in their careers , Craig and Kim Bagley realized that they wanted to help people manage the risks of everyday life , recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams . It ’ s a pretty tall order , but they ’ re definitely up for the challenge .
ance , but when something happens and it stands between you and a financial crisis , it is very rewarding to provide that help ,” Craig said . “ Take care of the people , and they will take care of you . Always sell policies that are in the best interest of the customer , and you will succeed .”
Mader-Bagley Insurance offers all types of insurance , including auto , home , life , health , business , and farm and ranch . Their main goal is not to sell insurance to people , but to help people protect and realize their dreams .
It ’ s always easy to sell policies when the company you represent is as respected as State Farm . The Bagleys represent a company that stands behind them and the policies that they sell .
“ A policy is only as good as the company that stands behind it ,” Craig Bagley said . “ You can probably always find a cheaper policy , but there is a reason they are cheap . We are never going to be perfect . But we would always want to be known for doing the right thing . Sometimes that ’ s not easy , but it ’ s right !”
When they are not dealing in insurance , Kim and Craig focus on several areas and organizations starting with their church , Christ Chapel . They are avid supporters of The Center of Hope , which helps so many people in so many ways , and Kim is extremely active in Zonta , a women ’ s service organization .
“ We also have a passion for kids and support local schools and organizations like the stock show ,” Kim said . “ Then we also support United Way and other arching charities that support many other organizations . Giving back is an honor and privilege .”
