PCT : How did you get into your occupation ? RH : I have always been intrigued by how things work and how things are done . I started out with an interest in technical theatre . My first exposure to theatre as a child was at Casa Manana where they were doing , Annie Get Your Gun . There ’ s a scene in there where Annie shoots targets while riding around in a circle . As luck would have it , the target girl in my row was just in front of my seat and I noticed the balloon full of confetti she was holding up was actually exploded by a thumb tack on her middle finger . She burst the balloon on cue with the gunfire . Ever since that day , I look at every movie , stage and TV action sequence with a sharp eye as to how the effects were achieved . I earned my bachelor ’ s degree at UT and my MFA from Temple Univ . in Philadelphia .
PCT : What is your favorite novel ? RH : Actually I don ’ t read much anymore but my old favorite was Exodus by Leon Uris .
PCT : What do you do to decompress ? RH : I don ’ t really relax much . I am a workaholic , so I am always building or fixing something . At my age and the age of my equipment , tools and my collector cars , there is always something that needs fixing . Hot Air Ballooning was my passion for many years . I love ballooning , but haven ’ t flown my balloon for a long time ; not since moving back to Texas 15 years ago . I ’ d love to get back to balloon-
