Parker County Today January 2018 - Page 35

Continued from page 27 would you do? KL: I’ve always wanted to work with animals and have a rescue.  PCT: What is your impact to Parker County? KL: Initially, I was hoping to “just” teach swimming, but my dream has evolved and my vision is to have a community centered around swim- ming and water safety in Parker County. I love being able to be a vehicle to spread injury prevention, help our community and inspire chil- dren to be better people. PCT: What is your definition of the best day ever?  KL: Oh gosh, I’ve had so many amazing days it’s hard to describe the best day ever. Most people would say it’s sitting on the beach having a drink with no cell phone or Internet. I think I would have to go with a nice quiet day with my family and no cares in the world but just appreciation of being able to slow down, spend time with each other and have real conversation.  PCT: What’s the best piece of advice you would give?  KL: Cliche, but travel. I have learned and seen so much in traveling. It’s my adult way of continuing my education to learn about people and cultures and continually be grateful for what we have. Jacquie Case is a certified personal trainer/national recruiter with Camp Gladiator. She was also one of our 2017 bachelorettes.  PCT: If you had to do another job other than what you’re doing, what would you do?  JC: If I had to do another job other than what I do I would probably go back to nursing. I love taking care of others and loved being in the hospital scene.  PCT: What is your impact to Parker County? JC: I grew up in Parker County and it is home to me. No matter how much it has grown, this town means a lot to me and the people in it. I want to do all I can to positively impact as many lives as I can.  PCT: How did you get into your occupation? JC: I fell in love with health and fitness. I have always loved helping people and what better way to help people, especially back in my home- town of Aledo? PCT: What do you do to decompress? JC: I love the outdoors, so I love going trail running, just being in nature and seeing God’s beauty all around. We all get so caught up in our busy schedules, so I love getting lost on the trails.  PCT: What is something people don’t know about you? JC: I want so badly to go to Australia!  PCT: What would you most like to be remembered for? JC: For being relentless, strong, self- less, always positive with a smile on my face, but most importantly for shedding His light through the way I live.  PCT: What’s the best piece of advice you would give?  JC: You only get this one life to live: are you doing everything you can to be the best you can be? God gives us so many opportunities in life to share his love, so I strive to live my life and encourage others to be their best selves and to live adventurously. PCT: What is the most interesting thing you have ever done in your life?  JC: I would say still to this day noth- ing has topped the one time me and my Dad climbed behind a water- fall. Growing up we always went to Colorado, my favorite place. Well, I would say I get my adventurous side from my dad. We literally climbed right up behind our favorite waterfall, Treasure Falls. The water was literally right in front of our faces. It was so amazing.  PCT: If you could have lunch with anyone, either living or dead from history, who would it be?  JC: Jimmy Stewart. My favorite movie is It’s A Wonderful Life. I am so old- fashioned and love the older movies. PCT: What is your definition of the best day ever?  JC: Best day ever I would wake up and have coffee on the front porch, go on a Z[[ۈH\[ܛ[™YH[[^HZ^B[[[]]H\و[K]H\][Hۙ\ H]B]X]HH\^\]\[B]YH^H[\YX]܈[Z[B[Z[[[KH]\[H]BH\؈[[\܂[][[K\\YYB]X[Hۙ\[[H[^HYK]\H[[\\[[[H]H]\ۙH[[\YOH]YX\Y^H[B[ۈH\ \ZH[YܛXB[\]YXY[[H^K]\™\[H\[X\ۈ܈ܘ^B[\[H\HXH]\[BXXݙ\\] [ܙHZHHY B[]YHوH[HX[[H][\XH]HXK]\]\YHBX]ZYH\p۝[YYۈYH
