our taste : A BETTER BURGER

Justice Burger — Food Fit For A Super Hero Super-hero sized portions and quality . Cape optional .

BY THE WEATHERFORD FOODIE

While traveling in Weatherford , I got to the historic Courthouse Square and spotted Justice Burger in the Southeast quadrant . Opened early in 2016 , Justice Burger fills out the restaurant offering on the Weatherford Courthouse Square by offering good food at a reasonable price .

It ’ s not a café , not fast food and it is not fine dining , but squarely in between .
The restaurant was not overly busy on a Wednesday night , so my companion and I entered and sat down at one of the numerous tables and began to scan the menu . The burger choices are extensive . The Enrico Pilazzo Burger ( EP is the fictional opera singer played by Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun movies ) provided us with a good laugh ; chicken and salads are also prominent ; and always remember to check the daily special board . I chose to order from the specials board and had the Gouda burger , while my companion chose to have chicken and ordered the Spartacus — a grilled chicken burger with bell pepper , mushroom , onion , jalapeño , pepper jack cheese , and garlic aioli on a toasted bun . Both entrees came with French fries .
My dinner guest did not want potatoes and told the server so ; he quickly offered her a salad as a substitute , and she was very pleased .
During our short wait for dinner , we enjoyed their large selection of adult beverages , noticing that they also offer shakes and floats . We noted seven different televisions , a dessert case and a fireplace . Soon our burgers arrived and they were huge ! My burger was so large I decided to cut it in half to eat it , as did my partner . Fries were falling off the plate — plentiful , hand-cut and addictively delicious . My companion ’ s salad was exactly what she wanted .
Service was excellent and we never waited for drink refills .
We ate as much as possible while saving room for dessert . There was food leftover for to-go boxes . The dessert choices were good . I was fixated on the jalapeño maple bacon cheesecake , but we chose a holiday dessert special . Instead of the menu banana pudding with vanilla wafers , we had eggnog pudding with layers of ginger snaps . It was truly divine .
The owners of Justice Burger are brothers John and Michael Stephen , originally from Odessa . They were planning to open a restaurant in Weatherford and had originally purchased a building in northern Weatherford when this location became available .
With family living nearby , Weatherford seemed like a perfect match . The name stems from the brothers ’ love of comic books and the decor throughout the restaurant reflect that affinity . It was an overall great meal . Justice Burger is open Sunday through Thursday , 11a . m . to 9 p . m .; Friday-Saturday 11a . m . to 10 p . m .; and is closed on Tuesday . They are located at 105 College Ave . on the historic Parker County Courthouse Square in Weatherford . They can be reached at 817-757-7977 or on Facebook .
