Steven Kirkland Weaver Monaghen Nationwide Aviation, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)   Q: What do you do? A: I educate willing students on the world of aviation and how to safely and efficiently operate an aircraft.    Q: What are some of your favorite movies and hobbies? A: Top Gun, Airplane, and Grown Ups. I also enjoy collecting model airplanes and building scaled diorama airports.   Q: If you were to write a book, what would you call it and what would it be about? A: I would write an autobiography explaining my life experiences in the hopes it could help or inspire others in their life of pain or even joy. I would call it Captain Kirk.  Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of? A: I’m proud that I was able to finish college a year early and begin my life on my own here in Parker County.    Q: How did you get into your field? A: A captain for Southwest Airlines let me sit up in the cockpit when I was 5 years old and from that day forward I wanted to be a pilot. I studied hard and learned everything I could about the aviation industry. When I became of age, 14, I began flight training. I later studied at Oklahoma State University where I got a degree in being a Professional Pilot.   Q: What do you do to relax? A: I hang out with my amazing friends or just relax at home watching sports.    Q: What scares you? A: Heights, believe it or not. I can handle being in an airplane because I am in control, but being on a ladder scares me.     Q: Who in your life has influenced you the most? How? A: Jesus Christ has no doubt influenced my life the most. The decisions I make and the life I live are inspired by the life He lived, and though I don’t always live up to that, I always try to glorify Him. A: I’d write a historical fiction about women reformers in the early twentieth century and call it Miss Behaving. Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of? A: Earning my Ph.D. Q: Are you married? How did you meet your spouse? A: I am married to my husband, Shawn Cowdin, whom I met at a party. Q: If you were to write a book, what Q: How did you get into your field?
