Misty Plowman Engel
Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral
Chapel
Advanced Planning and
Insurance Specialist and the
Continuous Care Advisor
Q: What do you do?
A: As far as advanced planning, I sit
down with people and help them to
pre-plan their funeral and pay for it.
You pay today’s prices, so we help
them get their wishes down. As far
as insurance goes, I file the insurance
claims for families and expedite their
claims. As the continuous care advisor, I’m the person they contact after
the services are complete.
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: I hate reading, so I can’t tell you
one.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Feel good movies, the Hallmark
Channel.
Q: What kind of music are you into?
A: Christian music and Christmas
music.
Q: If you were to write a book, what
would you call it and what would it
be about?
A: I would write one on the transition and grace and the way that God
prepares you for things in life. The
ultimate focus on your daily activities
is only to glorify God and not to think
about anything else.
Q: What’s the most daring thing
you’ve ever done?
A: My husband asked me to marry
him two weeks after I met him, and
then we were married three months
later. We’ve been married for four
years.
Q: What accomplishment are you
most proud of?
A: Helping to carry on the legacy
that my grandfather left at the funeral
home.
Q: When you were a child, what did
you want to be when you
grew up?
A: Schoolteacher or doctor. I had
a flower shop right out of high
school. Now I get the best of best
worlds by doing flowers on the side,
but I get to help the families.
Q: How did you get into your field?
A: Family business
Q: Would you recommend your
career for other people? Why?
A: Yes, because it’s a ministry.
Serving famil ies and helping them
through some of the darkest times of
their lives. It’s very rewarding.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?
A: To heaven to see my mom.
Beaches anywhere with clear water.
We went to St. Thomas and it was
beautiful.
Q: Who in your life has influenced
you the most?
A: My mother, she was a Godly
woman and she was a peacemaker.
A lot of the things that she was I want
to be for her.
Q: If someone asked you to give
them your best piece of advice, what
would you say?
A: Live today like it’s your last
because you are never guaranteed
tomorrow. Make sure it glorifies God.
Q: What is the one thing that makes
you happy?
A: My children and family
Q: What makes you really sad?
A: Turmoil, whenever people bicker
or don’t get along. I’m a peacemaker.
Q: What scares you?
A: I’m not scared of much. The typical losing loved ones. Even when
someone passes away, they’ve seen
such bigger and better things.
Q: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
A: I want to be remembered for being
a strong, Godly woman with a bold
personality and a loving heart.
We will go the extra mile
to make sure you are
satisfied!
