who was very interesting. I went on
to work for Farm Bureau insurance
selling insurance. But I always had
an interest and desire to go into real
estate.
Q: Would you recommend your
career for other people? Why?
A: Yes, for the right person. It takes a
lot of time, energy and hard work.
Q: What do you do to chill?
A: Farm.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?
A: Germany, that’s where my family
is from.
Q: Who is the one person you’d like
to meet?
A: George W. Bush, but I’d want to
sit down and visit with him about
what all went on when he was in
office.
Q: If someone asked you to give
them your best piece of advice, what
would you say:
A: Don’t get married too soon.
Experience life first. Have a career
and be stable. Getting married later is
usually more successful.
Q: What is the one thing that makes
you happy?
A: My wife and daughter — family.
Q: What makes you really sad?
A: Loss of a loved one.
Q: What scares you?
A: Snakes.
Q: Do you like to plan things out in
detail or be spontaneous?
A: Depends on what it is. I try to plan
things out each morning, but I’m not
a rigid person. In real estate, you
have to be spontaneous.
Q: If you could go back in history,
who is the one person you would like
to meet?
A: John Wayne.
Q: Who in your life has influenced
you the most? How?
A: My dad’s dad. We spent a lot of
time together. He taught me a good
work ethic and I wouldn’t be where I
am today without the things he taught
me growing up.
Q: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
A: Helping people in need.

Randolph Paul Rust II

Q: When you were a child, what did
you want to be when you grew up?
A: The QB for the Dallas Cowboys.
Q: How did you get into your field?
A: Followed my father. He was a firefighter for 32 years.
Q: Would you recommend your
career for other people? Why?
A: Yes, I think it is the greatest job
in the world. Helping people in their
greatest times of need provides a
reward not matched by anything else.
Q: What do you do to chill?
A: I work out at the gym. That’s my
time to vent stress / blow off steam. I
don the headphones and drown out
all distractions for an hour or so, four
or five times a week.

you’ve ever done?
A: Running in burning buildings is
very exhilarating.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?

Benjamin Franklin. He is credited
with being the founding father of the
American Fire Service.

handcrafted ales and lagers.

you happy?
A: Watching my children compete in
sports.
Q: What makes you really sad?
A: To see someone waste their talents
and abilities.
Q: What scares you?

the scariest thing I could imagine.

most proud of?
A: Raising three beautiful children

a work in progress (16, 13, and
11 years old). Professionally, I’m
most proud of serving alongside
Weatherford’s Bravest, the greatest
firefighters I know.
A: “Don’t be concerned about being
right, just focus on getting it right.” I
think that applies at work and home.
