hosts up to five hunts per season.
In this location, the hunting range
encompasses all of the land in the
1,800-acre development of less
than 20 completed homes. Hunts
can last several hours depending
on the weather and the success of
the hounds. The group hunts in
three different locations, this one
near Crowley, one near Paradise
and at a ranch on Dennis Road in
Weatherford. On this day there was a
slight delay when after finishing their
cake, the puppies found an open gate
and freedom. All of the young pack
members were quickly rounded up
by the hunt masters so the main event
could begin.
When and where a hunter begins
riding is based on the amount of the
rider’s experience.
The hound pack is in the lead
along with the hunt masters and the
whipper-in who assists the master
with the hounds and rides on the
periphery.
