Aaron “Blake” Rexroat
Public Relations Manager, City
of Weatherford
Q: What do you do?
A: I handle communication and
media relations, along with marketing
for the City of Weatherford.
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Q: If you were to write a book, what
would you call it and what would it
be about?
A: Why Can’t We Just Get Along - I
think in America we spend a lot of
time trying to blame others for our
problems rather than working together. My book would discuss ways to
work together toward a common
goal. I think at the end of the day, we
all aspire to seek happiness. History
repeats itself and my book would
highlight major historical events that
prove that working together is most
effective.
Q: What accomplishment are you
most proud of?
A: My family. I married my best
friend who encourages me to be the
best person I can be in work, life
and faith every day. We recently had
twins, so I am proud that we created
beautiful children who we hope will
become good stewards in society.
Q: How did you get into your field?
A: I went to college to become a
television anchor/journalist. After
being a reporter and anchor for the
university television station, I decided
that career path was not for me. So,
after exploration I discovered Public
Relations and loved it!
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: Currently, I do not have much
time to relax since the birth of our
twins, Wiley and Landry. Along with
their mother, they are my world.
However, if I do have time to relax
I like to sit on my patio and watch
Texas Rangers baseball in the spring,
summer and fall.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?
A: Germany. My wife and I both
have a family history that is tied to
Germany. I would love to go with her
and the kiddos someday!
Q: If you could go back in history,
who is the one person you would like
to meet?
A: I would like to meet JFK.
Q: Who in your life has influenced
you the most? How?
A: My late Paw Paw, Harvie Rexroat.
He used to talk to me about his time
in the Philippines during World War
II. My generation does not realize the
struggles our grandparents endured
and I will always cherish my conversations with him. He was a good
Christian man who believed in doing
your best and always putting in a
good honest hard day’s work.
