PCT : What do you do in your day to day ? SL : My daily goal is to make a positive impact on everyone I meet , from my co-workers and agents to community and family . In doing this , I walk through the doors God opens for me in that day . So , I say , my day-to-day is never the same !
PCT : How did you get into this business ? SL : In 1972 , my parents , Roy and Jan Lynch , opened their first real estate company in Aledo . At the age of 18 , I decided I would follow in their footsteps . At that time , I had no idea that 45 years later I would have the opportunity to carry on their legacy . Every day , I feel my dad ' s presence in my office . This is the main reason I love what I do . My mom and dad were so good at helping people . My ' why ' is to carry on the legacy they have built .
PCT : What is your back-up job if you weren ’ t in this business ? SL : I have recently joined Ambit Energy as a consultant and I absolutely love it ! I have found it is the best way to gain residual income . At my age , residual income is the most important thing . Everyone uses energy and we might as well work with local people instead of someone in another city , state , or country . I love network marketing and the potential is endless ! I am a consultant for Monat hair products , also . I will always be in network marketing .
PCT : What is your favorite thing about your job ? SL : My agents . I love watching them grow .
PCT : What have you learned in pursuing your field ? SL : No ' s are as good as Yes ' s . Selling anything is a numbers game . So , it ' s not hard for me to ask for business .
PCT : What advice can you give others who may want to follow in your footsteps ? SL : It ’ s not about me . My days are not about me . It ’ s about how I can help others .
PCT : What is the best piece of advice you can give to customers ? SL : Do not take what someone tells you about a company or a person as the whole truth . Do your homework and make sure they are giving you apples-to-apples comparisons . Also , do business with someone you like . Life is too short to spend a day getting beat up by someone you hire to work for you .
PCT : What is the most interesting thing you have seen in your field ? SL : That integrity , likeability and trustworthiness trump knowledge , money and manipulation every time !
PCT : What is something that others don ’ t know about you or your job ? SL : I was near homeless in 2010 . While driving in my car from Austin to move back home , I gave my life to God , I mean really gave Him my life . I made a promise to say ' yes ' to every opportunity as I believed my life was being led by Him . I look back and every door I walked through , even the painful ones , have brought me to where I am today . I learned it doesn ’ t take a lifetime to find your legacy , it takes giving your legacy to God .
