Army, I went back to Southeast Asia
as a helicopter pilot for a civilian
airline. I flew helicopters in Vietnam,
Cambodia, Thailand and Laos. I had
the privilege of meeting people from
these different cultures and enjoying
some very beautiful sights.
PCT: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
AS: The contributions that I have given
to aviation safety, especially to the
rotorcraft (helicopter) community.

PCT: If you could have lunch with
anyone, living or dead in history, who
would it be?
AS: It would be Charles Lindbergh.
As many of us know about his
transatlantic flight, he made many
contributions to aviation, especially
during WW II.
PCT: If you had to do another job
besides the one you’re doing, what
would you do?
AS: I would like to be a “ground”
instructor in an aviation university,
teaching courses such as aerodynamics,
navigation, etc.
PCT: What is your impact on Parker
County?
AS: I have lived here for over 36 years
and have participated in almost all
elections. I believe it is our duty to
participate in all elections.
PCT: What is your definition of the
best day ever?
AS: I usually plan my day by creating
a task list that I hope to accomplish
that day. If I get all items done by the
end of the day, then I consider it a
best day.

PCT: What’s the best piece of advice
you would give?
AS: If you have a debt, plan a budget
on how to get out of it. I believe in
living within your means.
PCT: What is the coolest thing you
have ever done in your life?
AS: Being a helicopter pilot. It started
in 1963 when I reported at Fort Wolters
for initial training. After graduation
and serving one year in Vietnam, I
returned to Fort Wolters and became
an instructor pilot.
BH: I think it would be amazing to
have lunch with our founding fathers.
