Community Leader,
Mom
By MARSHA BROWN
A
50
shley Duncan Conlon was
recently named general manager
of Century 21 Judge Fite. That means
she is responsible for overseeing all
of the Dallas-based corporation’s 25
residential real estate offices, as well
as its commercial division, relocation,
training and recruiting operations.
We asked Conlon, “What do
you do with all that spare time you
have?”
After she stopped laughing she
went on to explain. Her answer
included, ”Raise kids.”
Political leaders, sociologists and
members of the clergy nationwide
are frequently quoted bemoaning the
lack of community involvement on
the part of members of Generation X
and Millennials.
True, fewer members of those
generations are getting involved in
their communities than members of
the three generations that preceded
them. Giving back to your commu-
nity isn’t for anyone embroiled in
establishing a demanding career,
starting a family and building a life
simply because there are so many
demands on your time.
But, somehow Conlon has
managed to do a stellar job with it
all.
Is there a secret?
“I’m very intentional about what I
do and very focused,” Conlon said.
Giving back to her community,
and raising her family while achiev-
ing great success in her career
is a tradition handed down from
her grandfather, the late Clarence
Duncan and her father, real estate
great Jim Duncan.
“I have learned a lot from them
both,” she said.
Ashley Duncan Conlon began
serving as a member of the
Weatherford Independent School
District Board of Trustees in August
of 2011 and was elected Board
President in 2015. Since then, she
has held the positions of Board Vice
President (2014) and Board Secretary
(2013).
Conlon currently serves as a
board of trustee’s representative to
the WISD Education Foundation
Board of Directors, participates in
several WISD planning committees,
and is a member of the Crockett
Elementary PTA.
Conlon graduated from
