PCT : What do you do now and in the past ? CM : I research animals of all species to learn about their habits and needs , what they eat .
PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? CM : I have lived in Parker County all of my life , 10 years .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? CM : Working with my pigs and winning at shows .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? CM : Drawing is my secret talent . I love to draw all kinds of things , especially cartoons .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? CM : A nice , calm day with my friends and family .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up until now ? CM : Always look at the positive things in life .
PCT : What do you hope to be when you grow up ? CM : I want to be a zoologist , paleontologist and a veterinarian . I plan to attend Texas A & M for all three degrees .
PCT : What would you like to be remembered for ? CM : For helping and saving animals .
Carolyn Bernard Young

PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? CY : We moved here in January 2012 from Fort Worth .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? CY : In 1979 , when women were not allowed to do much of anything other than be secretaries , I was chosen to go to Brussels , Belgium , to work for General Dynamics on the F-16 program . I got to live there two and a half years with my daughter and we traveled all over Europe . I was a quality engineer for Lockheed Martin for 30 years .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? CY : I sing alto and was once in a Christian band traveling all around the Southeast doing concerts at churches .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? CY : Oh , that ’ s easy . The day I married Sam on Oct . 1 , 2011 . We met in 1978 and fell in love and went our separate ways . We got back together in 2011 and got married .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up until now ? CY : If something doesn ’ t work out , step back from it , absorb it , and learn from it . Expectations are the downfall of most people . If you can let go of those expectations and learn from your mistakes , then you ’ ll be a lot better off .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ? CY : I think it would be a sculptor . Making thrown pots was what I retired to do , but now I ’ m exploring sculpting in ceramic clay and I wish I had done it much sooner ! I will be introducing a new body of work this spring .
Carrie West
Last month , Carrie became the new police chief for the City of Willow Park . She has previously been with Dallas County schools as a manager of risk and emergency management , and before that she spent more than two decades in the City of Corinth Police Department .
PCT : How long have you been working in Parker County ? CW : I begin my position on Feb . 1 , 2017 .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? CW : I have been blessed with having many cool moments in my life . I ’ ve traveled outside the United States to the Dominican Republic , Mexico and Italy . I have made positive impacts on the lives of others and I have been blessed with success in my career . But , only expounding on one thing I would say it is holding my daughter for the first time and then seeing her hold her daughter the first time . Love
