Mandy is a mobile veterinarian and a mom .
PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? MM : Sixteen years . I moved here from North Carolina .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? MM : Watching my son kick extra points in Cowboy Stadium in the state championship game .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? MM : There is a reason that it is a secret .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? MM : Having a day at home by myself with no one that needs me to do

PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up till now ? MM : There is not really a specific piece of advice that I would say defines my life . However , every woman in my family , back several generations , has been to college . It never occurred to me that I would not go on to college and be anything that I set my mind to .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ? MM : Pediatrician . This is what I planned on doing most of my life until I met a family of veterinarians and changed directions a bit .
PCT : How did you get into your current job ? MM : I decided that I needed to be home with my kids more and started doing house calls to control my schedule .
PCT : What would you do if you weren ’ t doing this job ? MM : Probably be helping my husband run our ranch . This is what I will do after my daughter graduates high school .
PCT : What would you like to be remembered for ? MM : For being a compassionate and caring veterinarian and person .

Pat is the mayor of Hudson Oaks .
PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? PD : My wife and I have lived in Parker County for 24 years .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ?
PD : I would have to say successfully racing motocross in my early 20s is one of my fondest memories . Although my path was altered when I suffered a broken leg and was not able to walk for a year . This experience changed my life in allowing me to strengthen my faith , refocus my priorities , finish college , and ultimately earn my MBA .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? PD : Not sure I have a secret talent , but I guess you could say that even in my 50s I am still pretty good at accurately pitching fast balls for batting practice . This is important when you are pitching to kids . They will never trust you again if they get hit with a ball !
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? PD : Spending quality time with my family . I try to spend quality time with my wife and kids every day . It ’ s not always possible , but we enjoy our time together and make every effort , even if it ’ s just hanging out at home .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up till now ? PD : Early in my life as a teenager , I was fortunate to have a baseball coach who gave me life lessons rather than just teaching the game . He would say , “ Character is defined as doing the right thing when no one is looking .” Coincidentally , this was also repeated often by a late dear friend of mine , Phil Lumsden , the former Mayor of Annetta and former owner of Sugar Tree and Split Rail golf courses . I have looked up to both of these men , and their counsel has been a road map for me throughout my life and always will be .
