a high metabolism, Opossum might not have lasted too long out in the freezing temperatures. Nevertheless, she was rescued and brought in from the cold to spend her days in a warm building surrounded by fur-friends. Not only does the age of 7 mean she qualified as elderly for dogs, but Opossum’s age also wouldn’t appeal to those with kids looking for a playful family pet. Older dogs tend to be more aggressive and temperamental towards younger children, often lowering their chance of adoption and leaving them homeless longer than other animals. However, that fate was not in store for Opossum. Jimmy Fisher came strolling in one chilly afternoon with his wife, in search of a dog for his mother, whose dog had just died. Fisher was debating on a dog for her when Opossum looked up at him with warm, round eyes and his decision was made at once, or was it? Who could refuse that face?
