A: I love the classic, Gone With the
Wind; however, When Harry Met
Sally still makes me laugh.
Q: What is your favorite kind of
music?
A: I was raised with classic country
music and favorites of that era, Ray
Conniff Singers, Dean Martin, Frank
Sinatra. But now I enjoy Adele,
classic rock, southern gospel, country
western, and jazz.
Q: What’s the most daring thing
you’ve ever done?
A: White water rafting about 20 miles
through the Royal Gorge in Colorado
on Class IV rapids.
Q: What accomplishment are you
most proud of?
A: I’m very proud of my children and
the fine citizens they’ve become. I
have a college professor, a successful
business owner, a school principal
and one working in the computer
industry. They love America and are
good people.
Q: When you were a child, what did
you want to be when you grew up?
A: I wanted to be an FBI agent.
Q: How did you get into your field?
A: I began as a legal secretary, then
paralegal, and then legal assistant.
I began working for County Judge
Harris Worcester in 1990 as the court
coordinator and probate auditor. My
past legal experience made this the
perfect beginning point for my future
as county clerk /local registrar.
Q: Would you recommend your
career for other people? Why?
A: I would recommend giving to your
community in whatever way you are
chosen and capable. If that means as
an elected official and you have the
heart and intestinal fortitude to do
what is right for the office, I would
recommend any elected position for
which you are qualified.
Q: What do you do to chill?
A: Chill? That’s a difficult question!
I like movies, being with my family
and traveling. Most spare moments
are spent with my beautiful 88-yearyoung mother. She’s my joy.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?
A: If traveling in the U.S., I’d love
to go to Alaska. I loved the Tuscany
region of Italy and would love to
return someday.
Q: What person from history would
you most like to have lunch with?
A: Oliver Loving because of the
history, humor and life’s lessons he
could share.
Q: If someone asked you for your best
piece of advice, what would you say?
A: Be honest and make every attempt
you can to be fair in all you do.
Q: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
A: Being the Parker County Clerk who
brought preservation and retention of
the county’s records from the paper,
pen, microfilm and fiche era to that
of efficient and effective technology
of today and beyond. When people
remember me I’d like them to say I
was honest, use kind words when
mentioning my heart and miss me.
