Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: The Prince of Egypt. It’s an animated film for children.
Q: What kind of music are you into?
A: Traditional Country Western,
Gospel or Singer-Songwriter music.
I like music that has a message.
My favorite singer songwriters are
Jeffery Steele (wrote, “Brand New
Girlfriend,” recorded by Steve Holy;
“The Cowboy in Me,” recording by
Tim McGraw, “These Days,” “What
Hurts the Most,” “Here” and “My
Wish” recorded by Rascal Flatts) and
Aaron Barker, who has written several number one songs for George Strait
(“Baby Blue”, “Love Without End,
Amen”, “Easy Come, Easy Go”) and
(“What About Now,” recorded by
Lonestar) but I like them best when
they perform their own music.
Q: What’s the most daring thing
you’ve ever done?
A: Besides running for Republican
chairman? I don’t consider myself
daring but as a teenager I rappelled
into Palo Duro Canyon.

Q: What accomplishment are you
most proud of?
A: My children and grandchildren.
Q: When you were a child, what did
you want to be when you grew up?
A: A doctor
Q: How did you get into your field?
A: It was a natural transition into
business. As I grew up, I realized that
healthcare wasn’t really my calling
but business was. It’s rewarding to
be able to help people during a time
when they’re most vulnerable, when
they are going through the loss of a
loved one. I’ve handled three death
claims over the past week and it’s
fulfilling to be able to tell a family
that wouldn’t otherwise be able to
p ay for a funeral that, “It’s ok. It’s all
been taken care of.”
Q: Would you recommend your
career for other people? Why?
A: Sure! It provides the unique
opportunity to communicate with
people and to help them realize
their dreams, plan for the future and
protect their families and businesses.
reason, right now.
Q. What’s your favorite hobby?
A: Politics and grandchildren, but not
in that order.
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I really enjoy spending time with
family and friends. I love going to
the beach, listening to the waves and
taking time to recharge.
Q. What is the one thing that makes
you happy?
A: Mike, my amazing husband, best
friend and partner in life, and my
boys and grandboys, my family and
friends. Something else that makes
me happy is seeing people secure
and comfortable in their relationship
with the Lord.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?
A: I don’t know. I’m pretty happy
where I am.
Q: What makes you really sad?
A: Watching the consequences of
bad decisions and disobedience play
out.
Q: What person from history would
you most like to have lunch with?
A: Thomas Jefferson. I really enjoy
going to Washington, D.C. and
spending time reading the writings of
leaders of our country at the monuments. A lot of them include words
from some of the great speeches from
the early days of our country. My
favorite is from a speech by Jefferson.
“Lord, I fear for a nation that’s forgotten.” It’s an insight into the man.
Q: What scares you?
A: A country that has forgotten. Not
unlike Thomas Jefferson, I fear for a
country that has forgotten.
Q: If someone asked you for your
best piece of advice, what would you
say?
A: Do the right thing, for the right
Q: If you could go back in history,
what era would you like to land in?
A: This one! Why would I want to be
somewhere other than where I am?
We all romanticize about another
time, but I don’t really have any
desire to be somewhere else. This is
our day, our calling.
Q: Who in your life has influenced
you the most? How?
A: My grandma. She was steady,
