Our time is very quick and that’s a very good thing because we are able to save more heart muscle,” he said. As the program continues to grow, the community continues to increase the use of the heart and vascular center. “We do great quality work and we are at a point to offer additional services,” he continued. “In order to be more efficient in providing faster time for our patients, the second cath lab is going to be very helpful in that regard. It’s very positive for the hospital and for the doctors to add services to our community. I’m excited because we can work on two patients simultaneously which means less delay. If you only have one room and an emergency comes in you have to vacate. As the quality of care has grown more patients are being brought to the hospital for these services, so we are growing together,” said Dr. Agha. February was proclaimed Heart Month first in 1964 by then-president Lyndon B. Johnson and by each president since then. A great cause for celebration locally is WRMC rolling out its second catheterization lab in February 2016. The event will coincide with a community celebration of life at the hospital on Feb. 25 from 4-6 p.m. The hospital is inviting all patients who have experienced care in the hospital’s heart and vascular care center to attend and enjoy refreshments and a tour of the new facility. It is also hosting a Go Red Think Pink Heart Seminar as part of its Healthy Woman initiative on Feb. 18 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. Tickets to the Healthy Woman event are $10 each and seating is limited. Contact Natalie Waskel at 817-582-1757 for reservations.
