A: Martin Luther King, Jr. I would like to ask him with all the negativity that surrounded his life, how did he deal with it? Q: If someone asked you for your best piece of advice, what would you say? A: I have two pieces of advice. Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” And Ella Wheeler Wilcox said, “Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone.” Q: What would you most like to be remembered for? A: Just for being a really nice guy! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Richard A. Crosley II Patrol Sergeant, Parker County Sheriff’s Office Q: What do you do? A: Supervise five patrol deputies and one corporal. The deputies take calls and make arrests. I make sure the paper work they do is complete and correct. Amongst other things, I keep in contact with them on a personal level and make sure that they come to work happy and confident. I am also an 11-year member of the Parker County/ Weatherford combined SWAT team. Q: What is your favorite book? A: Any Star Wars book, also the series of Game of Thrones wasn’t too bad. Q: What is your favorite movie? A: Major League, Full Metal Jacket, Empire Strikes Back. Those are all good. FEBRUARY 2016 PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY Q: What kind of music are you into? A: I listen to a variety of music, but I think I prefer Classic Rock the most. Most of the music today assaults all six senses. Q: What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? A: The first thing that comes to mind is when I was about 10 I pulled a bike on top of the roof of my house, which was connected to a garage that had a Ford Pinto next to it. I tried to jump off the house, onto the garage, land on the car, and then finally land on the ground. It was a lot cooler in my head, as I crashed headfirst into the car, rolling off the vehicle and having the bike land on my head. Fail. Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of? A: Serving my country in the United States Navy, followed closely by seeing my kids graduate high school. Q: When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A: I thought I might be a shark wres- 110 tler, but I found out I got seasick easily; scratching that idea, I wanted to play baseball. Q: How did you get into your field? A: I started in the security field and found that I liked catching burglars and calling in DWIs and such. Q: Would you recommend your career for other people? Why? A: I would say that if you like challenging yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally, then this job is for you. All through a single day you get out of this job every emotion. It’s never the same, and when you think you have it figured out, someone does something that leaves you shaking your head, and wondering how humanity got this far, or shaking your head, and wondering how much more humanity is going to accomplish. Q: What do you do to relax? A: I ride my motorcycle. That might be the easiest form of relaxation to find, unless someone in a car almost hits me ... almost ... and then I continue my relaxing ride back to my house. Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go? A: Israel, Ireland and England. Q: What person from history would you most like to have lunch with? A: I think George W. Bush, Ron Burgundy, Elvis, Teddy Roosevelt and Jackie Robinson. I would have to give directions to Bush though — I’m afraid he would get lost. Q: If someone asked you for your best piece of advice, what would you say? A: If you think it’s wrong, it probably is. And, learn grammar, that’s always neat. Q. What’s your favorite hobby?
