as people began to leave rural Millsap for jobs in larger towns nearby, namely Mineral Wells and Weatherford. By 1968, the population stood at 261. But by the late 1980’s, numbers had rebounded to 412. That’s a good average for the official population in the years since, with the current count being about 433.

 It’s more about Bulldogs than Indians these days, but the community of Millsap has been keen to preserve its western frontier heritage. The primitive cabins give folks at least a glimpse into that long-gone time.
