The Doss Heritage & Culture Center The first one, given to the Doss by Ann and Tom B. Saunders and Dave and Nancy Deison, is a Model 464 Mossberg 30-30 Winchester carved with images highlighting Weatherford’s past, from being the Cutting Horse Capital of the World to growing famous peaches. The other one is being given to the Doss by Sheriff Larry Fowler and his wife, Gail. It is a Winchester model 94AE .45 Colt that was commissioned in 2003 and clad in 24K gold.  “Both guns will be on display in the Doss Heritage and DECEMBER 2016 PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY At the opening of the Doss, Weatherford’s favorite native son, Larry Hagman, came to town to donate a collector’s item rifle to the museum, engraved with unique features, especially meaningful to fans of the TV show Dallas. Thus began the fascinating collection of firearms at the Doss. While one celebrates the entire county, one is specific to Weatherford. Gun enthusiasts along with lovers of history can now see the two commemorative guns donated on May 19 of this year.
