He especially doesn’t like the idea of pressure selling to women who come in to buy tires, only because
they don’t know any better. Just recently he had a young
woman come in to his shop who knew she needed new
tires, but didn’t know what exactly was wrong with her
tires. He was able to show her exactly what was wrong so
that she could decide if she wanted to buy new ones or
wait.
“I feel that women get taken advantage of, [feeling like
they] have to buy tires,” Peña said. “I like to show them
what exactly went wrong. By showing them, it gives them
some more ease and it makes them feel comfortable to
buy from me.“
