not when I die, but when she dies.
PCT: On behalf of Parker County
Today and all of the residents of
Parker County, thank you for your
generosity in supporting the Doss
Heritage and Culture Center.
Hagman: My pleasure. Nobody
else has asked me to be in a
museum, that’s for sure. It’s a first-and probably the only.

DECEMBER 2015 PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY
Update:
Though gone from our midst,
Larry Hagman still stands tall in
Weatherford. Fittingly, a 6-foot-1-inch
bronze of the internationally known
actor stands on the grounds of the
Doss Heritage and Culture Center.
Like his mother Mary Martin, he will
always shine in the firmament of
Weatherford’s cultural past.
The city unveiled the bronze
created by Kelly Graham on what
would have been Hagman’s 83rd
birthday, Sept. 21, 2014. Weatherford
Mayor Dennis Hooks declared the
day “Larry Hagman Day.”
“I’m certain he would have been
proud,” the actor’s daughter Kristina
Hagman said. “Of course, you know,
he may be looking down on us and
I’ll never know what his thoughts are,
but I’m very happy and proud… . It’s
out there by the college — I hope
it inspires young people to do great
things.”
Describing her famous father
as “wonderful, exciting and kind,”
Hagman said her dad loved
Weatherford.
“He really did. He brought us
there many, many times. He didn’t
want us to forget where he came
from and he wanted us to appreciate
that piece of the world. Weatherford
inspired him, and I hope he can
inspire Weatherford.”
Kristina Hagman’s memoir “The
Eternal Party” is slated for release
Saturday, June 7, 2016.
“It’s about growing up with two
very famous people,” she said. “There
are a lot of stories about Weatherford
…”
