its 37th year by highlighting some of
Weatherford’s historical homes and churches

here else can you learn about a
cattleman and rancher, a castor
oil manufacturer and a castle that has
housed children for over 100 years?
It’s the 37th Annual Candlelight Tour
of Homes organized by volunteers
from the Parker County Heritage
Society and it’s a great opportunity to
see behind the doors of some of the
beautiful older homes that are scat-
tered throughout Weatherford. The
tour this year is on Dec. 8, beginning
at 11 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. If
you’ve never been on the tour before,
the one in Parker County is differ-
ent from most of those found in the
Metroplex.
What sets this tour apart from
others is the history you learn about
the people who built or lived in the
homes. For example, on tour this
year is the home of Oliver Loving,
one of the namesakes of the famed
Goodnight-Loving Cattle Trail. Oliver
