Who Cares? I Don’t Know, But I’d Love To Find Out
T
here are a lot of small things we deal with every-
day that makes me wonder ...
Hey, you drive-thru customers, be ready to do busi-
ness when you get to the window! That is not the
time to look at Instagram, check messages, check
your Facebook, take selfies.
It’s like, “Hey, I’m in a drive-thru window and I don’t
have a clue what to do next so I’ll take a picture of
myself and send to my friends.”
Just, please give the clerk what they need to
complete your order. Here’s a concept, try thinking
of what you want to order before you get to the fast-
food restaurant. You know you’ve been there 1000’s
of times, the menu hasn’t changed, all that much. It’s
burgers or chicken and fries and Cokes, full of sugar,
that promises to send you into an early diabetic
death if you keep drinking the super-sized ones.
Hummmm. Soooo, I say, “drink-up, you self-shooting
Millennials. Enjoy!”
So, folks grab that concept, what are the choices??
And, to you drive-thru pharmacy people, PLEASE
bring a functioning insurance card. Face it, you
know when it’s working and when it isn’t. Guess
what? They will not take an expired one, and you
should know that before you arrived! Why argue
with the clerk about it?
They certainly can’t pay your premiums for you,
and here is a thought, when you have complicated
business to conduct, go inside the store. That’s what
they’ll tell you anyway, “Sir, please pull around to
the front so we can help you inside.”
Please make it easy on us folks that just want a
senior coffee or just to pick up our Prozac.
For Instagram fans, why can’t they make that app
work horizontally? It would be so much better, than
having to always turn our devices around.
It used to be I dreaded going to the doctor
because I didn’t want a shot or some other invasive
medical procedure. Not anymore, I will gladly do
any of that, the thing I dread most about going to the
112
doctor is the forms! Oh my God, the forms! You go
and have to fill out all the forms, then you go back
a few days later and have to fill out the forms again.
Which is more painful, being sick, or filling out the
forms? Seriously, I think I’m opting for the latter. And
someone in the government somewhere, is busy 24/7
thinking up new forms.
So, have you noticed every retail-type establish-
ment from Amazon to a small cafe, is out of every-
thing? Went to a Mexican restaurant the other day
and they were out of avocados, hence no guacamo-
le. So, I said, “You know what? I think most grocery
stores sell avocados.” The server said, “I know, but
our manager seems to not care.”
What is going on with people? He didn’t care?
Who builds products? There is a concept in this
country that says, “If we can make the customers
build it for us, let’s do that. It’s the same concept as
self check-out lanes. So, I’m rebelling. I won’t do self
check-out, because if I do that, what’s next?
Will they ask me to start stocking the shelves,
myself? Maybe, they’d like me to start sweeping up
for them?
It’s the same with building the products I
purchase.
My wife recently purchased an animal carrier,
and I had to put it together. It was incredulous! You
pay $50 bucks for the piece of junk, get it home and
have to fight with it to put it together.
Then it breaks, and you take it back and get
another one, ‘cause you need it, and, then you put it
together again. So the angst of this is the poor crafts-
manship. These things don’t go together easily, the
holes don’t line up. Nothing matches the instructions
and it’s all a real pain.
So, I called to try to find out why, and guess
what? They don’t care, either. So if you find some-
one to do business with that really cares ... Cherish
Them!
