PARKER COUNTY AG Hallie Thomas Weatherford ISD - 9th Grade Center Incoming high school freshman Hallie Thomas has been showing animals since she was in the fourth grade, fol- lowing in the footsteps of her older sister, Peyton, and her parents before them. She shows both market and breeding goats and pigs, currently having five goats and two pigs, the smallest number of animals she has had since she started. Showing has taught Hallie a lot about responsibility, overcoming challenges and dedication. She spends two to three hours every day with her animals, and loves the unending compassion they show her every time she is in the barn. She loves all the memories and friends she has made while traveling all over Texas. She received Grand Champion York and Duroc Market Pig in the 2017 Parker County Livestock show, and she has earned various plac- ings in numerous shows over the past five years. Besides showing, Hallie also has played basketball and volleyball for the Lady Roos team at Shirley Hall Middle School, along with getting involved with the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council. She is also a livestock judge for the Parker County 4-H Livestock Judg- ing Team and is going through the interview process to become a 4-H Ambassador. When she is older, she would like to be an agriculture teacher, an extension agent, or have her own agricultural business where she can raise show animals.
