PARKER COUNTY AG A TRADITIONAL COWBOY GRAHAM SPOONER BY KATHERINE ROSE G raham Spooner is a nine-year-old student at Mary Martin Elementary who loves to show cattle. It began as his dad’s idea several years ago, but after Graham took several 1st class ribbons and multiple reserve division awards with his heifers, Snowey and Lucy and his newest, Daisey, he owned the concept. This year marks Graham’s second year to show at the county level as well as his first year to show at the majors. Graham is an enthusiastic member of the Parker County 4-H, where he has attended cooking and leather working classes and has the distinction of having designed a rocket made out of a Coke bottle. What is it that Graham likes most about showing? “Walking my cow into the ring,” he said. His plan for the future is a simple one — to keep on showing. Graham has earned numerous trophies in his short career, but has yet to claim a belt buckle like twin brother Garrison, but that’s OK. It leaves him something to work towards.
