Charles Goodnight enjoyed a long
and interesting relationship with Chief
Quanah Parker, he was by no means the
Comanche’s’ only white friend. Samuel
Burk Burnett, who in 1881 established
his Four Sixes (6666) Ranch in the area of
present-day Wichita Falls, also befriended
Quanah. Burk Burnett went on to build
one of the largest cattle ranches in Texas
history.
