PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? RA : My best day ever would be sitting on a houseboat , drinking coffee watching the sun come up over Lake Cumberland , KY with my husband and my dachshunds .
PCT : What ’ s the best piece of advice you would give ? RA : My best advice would be if you do not know the answer always ask . There is never a dumb question .
PCT : What is the most interesting thing you have ever done in your life ? RA : Most interesting thing I have done in my life was jumping my first skydive jump .

Ray is Parker County Jail Captain .
PCT : How did you get into your occupation ? RW : I entered law enforcement because I always wanted to serve my community in a law enforcement capacity .
PCT : What is your favorite novel ? RW : The Bible . There is no better book in the history of mankind . It is the greatest story ever told .
PCT : What do you do to decompress ? RW : Spend quality time with my family .
PCT : What is something most people don ’ t know about you ? RW : I ’ m a push-over for children and animals .
PCT : For what would you most like to be remembered ? RW : To leave a legacy of integrity in both my personal and professional life .
PCT : If you could choose to have lunch with anyone , living or dead from history , who would it be ? RW : My grandfather , who was the wisest man I ’ ve ever known .
PCT : If you had to do another job other than what you ’ re doing , what would you choose ? RW : The past 40 years of working in law enforcement has been my dream . I love helping and serving others .
PCT : What is your greatest impact to Parker County ? RW : To be the best person I know how to be . If I can help one person through my example , then my service has been worth it .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? RW : A family camping trip and a picnic .
PCT : What ’ s the best piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in your field ? RW : To have truthfulness in all things and to be honest in all your ways . Our integrity is defined by what we do when no one is looking .
PCT : What is the coolest thing you have ever done in your life ? RW : My son is a US Navy Chief Petty Officer . In 2001 , I was able to ride the USS Pensacola on a Tiger Cruise with him . ( A Tiger Cruise is where military family members are allowed to ride a US Navy ship out to sea and up the coastline .) It was an enlightening and wonderful experience .

PCT : How did you get into your occupation ? SR : I grew up around the medical profession . I followed in my father ’ s and uncle ’ s footsteps . They were both physicians .
PCT : What is your favorite novel ? SR : Kilkenny , by Louis L ’ Amour .
PCT : What do you do to decompress ? SR : I do several things that relax me . I love to read and cook . I enjoy watching college football and basketball and cooking shows . Also , being outside and mowing with the riding lawnmower relaxes me .
PCT : What is something people don ’ t know about you ? SR : People might not know that as a teenager I spent over four years in Africa . My parents were medical missionaries in Zaire . My dad was a general surgeon who performed many surgeries for the local people and surrounding areas .
PCT : What would you most like to be remembered for ? SR : I would like most to be remembered for being a good father .
