PCT: What’s the best piece of advice
you would give?
RD: I’m not a highly educated
man. I’ve had to figure it out, make
mistakes, figure it out, peat and
repeat over the many years. I would
say the one thing that I always fell
back on a favorite quote by Albert
Einstein, “Imagination Is More impor-
tant than knowledge.” Go to school,
learn all you can but don’t ever
discount the value of instinct or gut
feeling.
PCT: What is the most interesting
thing you have ever done in your
life?
RD: I have traveled the world and
visited more than 30 countries, I have
experienced the different cultures,
the wonderful people. Something I
most likely would not have had the
opportunity if it weren’t for my vari-
ous businesses and the industry I’m
in. I do wish I would have taken
more time in my travels to stay a little
longer.

industry, Dave McGregor. He recom-
mended me to THE best in the busi-
ness, Shorty Freeman. I worked for
him 12 years before his deteriorating
health led to his death in 1990.
PCT: What is your favorite novel?
RK: My favorite novel would prob-
ably be Presumed Innocent.
PCT: What do you do to decompress?
RK: To decompress, I love to water
and care for my yard. I have LOTS of
flowers. Sometimes way too many!
PCT: What is something people don’t
know about you?
RK: What people don’t know about
me is that I went to art school after
high school on a scholarship.
PCT: How did you get into your
occupation?
RK: I was very fortunate in my early
twenties to have met and worked for
one of the best in the cutting horse
PCT: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
RK: I’d like to (hope to) be remem-
bered for my generosity. Not finan-
cially, just overall “help”, physically
and emotionally.
