The Curriculum
ICT :
Computer Technology plays an integral part of our lives both personal and professional and at Park
Hill Primary we realise the importance of ensuring every child receives education in ICT.
We encourage pupils to use the internet safely to source information, produce work using a variety of
Computer packages and work on educational websites to study and complete homework.
Religious Education :
Faiths and cultures are studied in accordance with the National Curriculum. The theories and
workings of Christianity form the basis of learning although other faiths are included in our teaching.
We have close connections to the local church.
Religious activities and visits are included in the curriculum along with a study of Personal, Social and
Health Education and Citizenship (PSHE) and SEAL.
PE
Healthy living is encouraged in all our children and Physical Education lessons form part of the
curriculum. We have a football coaches visit school twice a week which enhances skills in fair play,
teamwork and football skills. .
In KS2 children are given the opportunity to go Swimming and gain confidence in water.
If for any reason your child is unable to participate in PE or swimming lessons a note from a
parent/carer is required by school.
Art
Artistic talent at every level is nurtured with art sessions in class. Art is linked topically to studies and
work is very often displayed in corridors on class display boards.
Music
Park Hill Primary covers a range of areas relating to music and has an established choir who perform
in and outside school. We have won the ‘Merry Hill Choir Competition’ twice
