Message from Superintendent Dr. Lynn Moody
Extraordinary Education Every day (E3)
THIS IS OUR YEAR!
This is the time of the year when kids and teachers are
anxious for Spring Break – a time for rest, fun and also a
time for rejuvenation. We need this extra boost of energy for
the last leg of an extraordinary school year. Closely visible
on our horizon are our end of year testing, celebrations and
graduations.
This time of year we also find ourselves deep into preparing
a budget for next school year. I am encouraged at the
cooperation between our newly elected leadership and our
current elected leaders and I look forward to working together
with them and our school staff in moving our schools and
community forward.
It has been a whirlwind year with so many new things happening as we continue to implement
our strategic plan. Most prominently is our digital conversion that placed laptops and iPads into the
hands of all our teachers, and our students in grades 3-12. This needed tool brought a refreshing air
of excitement into classrooms, as well as into our homes, as we focus on increasing literacy and inviting our students into a more engaging
learning experience. The push for literacy and digital conversion has involved our community through summits, conferences, and hotspot
sponsorships providing a safe place so our students’ learning can be extended beyond the hours they are at school. This is how we improve,
this is how we achieve higher goals, and this is how we achieve higher expectations; while working together with each other through creating
positive collaborative and supporting relationships with each other.
There are never enough words to express how grateful I am to work with colleagues in our schools and in our community that put children
first. We have rolled up our sleeves, surged ahead, and we are quickly expanding the way teaching and learning is delivered in our schools.
