Principals’ Retreat At Milliken
This summer all principals experienced two days with a successful
company that bases its principles on customer service and creating
extraordinary high employee morale for best results. Principals
returned with an understanding that thinking differently and
educating our educators will make our students successful.
On The Fast Track – Accelerating Innovation
During the summer of 2014, 160 teachers and administrators
attended the ISTE International Society for Technology in Education
annual conference. These educational leaders returned excited to
share new strategies with other educators. They did this through:

Chats” - great way of sharing best practices among
teachers!
n PBL Institute where over 90 teachers learned new Problem-Based
Learning strategies for classroom instruction
n Many media centers and classrooms are transforming into inviting
student collaborative centers
n Twitter Chats among educators sharing best practices takes occur
on a regular schedule
n All 160 staff that attended ISTE presented at the Back to School
Teacher Conference sharing their recently learned innovation
RSS Tech Summit
Salisbury and North Rowan high schools; Knox and North Rowan
middle schools; Overton, Isenberg, Koontz, North Rowan, and Hanford
Dole elementary schools joined together to present to all district
school employees the RSS Tech Summit. This event allowed area
principals and district leaders the opportunity to share the importance
of the RSS 1:1 digital conversion, to hear the perspectives from
