UCPS January Employee of the Month

The Union County Public Schools ’ January Employee of the Month was recognized for her ability to step up and get the job done .

Retta Threatt was honored at the Jan . 5 Board of Education meeting for her exceptional work in the UCPS After School Program , after being nominated by Program Coordinator Deborah Byers .

Threatt ’ s supervisor , UCPS After School Program Director Suzanne Thompson , told board members that Threatt , who filled in during the absence of another employee , was well deserving of the award because of her exceptional performance .

Retta Threatt was recognized for her exceptional job performance .

“ Mrs . Threatt carried out every assignment with excellence , met every deadline , and communicated well with parents . She also worked well with the group leaders ,” she said .

The Employee of the Month ( EOM ) award , recognizes employees in non-teacher / non-certified positions . It was created to honor those who have exemplary work and performance , those who promote positive morale , or possibly those who demonstrate initiatives and creativity that improve the operating efficiency of their department or the district .

UCPS February Employee of the Month

The UCPS February Employee of the Month , Mary Mical , continuously seeks ways to improve her customer service .

Mical , a licensure specialist in the UCPS Human Resources Division , was recognized at the Feb . 7th Board of Education meeting after being nominated by her supervisor , Human Resources Director Dr . Lillian Rorie . “ Ms . Mical demonstrates the epitome of customer service and is very responsive to all requests from supervisors , team members , and

Mary Mical , at right , is other stakeholders ,” Rorie said . “ She presented a certificate by Board of Education Chair consistently provides services with Melissa Merrell exceptional a positive , respectful attitude , while customer service . continuously seeking ways to improve her service delivery .”

“ She is totally motivated by a desire to help others and to assure that they receive every benefit to which they are entitled ,” Rorie said .
