Millbridge Teacher Nancy Goodnight Is
Teacher Of The Year
Nancy Goodnight, teacher at
Millbridge Elementary School, is
our new Rowan-Salisbury 20152016 ‘Teacher of the Year.’ The
announcement was made at the
district’s annual Pep Rally on
August 20th, held at the Catawba
College Goodman Gymnasium.
With the title of “Teacher of
the Year,” Goodnight received a
new Honda Accord from Gerry
Wood Auto Group presented by
Brad Wood and Dillon Brewer.
This entitles Goodnight to the car
for a year.
In addition, Goodnight
received a $1,000 reimbursement
grant for school supplies and a
plaque from the Rowan County
Chamber of Commerce presented
by Executive Director Elaine
Spalding.
Goodnight will be presented
with the Phillip Kirk Scholarship at the September 28th Rowan-Salisbury
Board of Education meeting. The award covers expenses for a week at
NCCAT (NC Center for Advancement of Teaching). Phil Kirk will make the
presentation.
Goodnight was surprised by an emotional congratulations appearance
from her husband and father.
Goodnight was honored along with 35 district Teachers of the Year at
the Pep Rally that was emceed by Kent Bernhardt. Each teacher received
engraved medals
