Students in grades 3-12 were provided digital devices as an instructional tool that they could take home as well as use in the classroom. Rowan-Salisbury is one of 10 districts across the state to implement a 100% take home digital conversion. In addition, a new Literacy Framework was created to unify reading instruction across the district. Literacy and Reading Design Coaches were added to schools to assist teachers with implementing the Literacy Framework. Depending on the grade level the coaches assist teachers with teaching reading and with teaching reading through the subjects they teach. Our community partners joined in by offering “Hot Spot” WiFi accessibility through churches, businesses and schools to our students to extend the learning day. http://www. rowanhotspot.com This year, ACHIEVE3000 is added to compliment the digital conversion and literacy focus.
