Performance of the Week Award SHS Quarterback Receives the NCHSAA 'Performance of the Week' Award Salisbury High football quarterback Griffin Myers has earned the NCHSAA (NC High School Athletic Association) ‘Performance of the Week’ award. According to the NCHSAA website, each week two NCHSAA athletes are selected for this award from nominations received from media and school administrators. Cheryl Lange is the 2017- 2018 Media Coordinator of the Year Cheryl Lange, Media Coordinator at Corriher-Lipe Middle School, was awarded the 2017-2018 NC Media Coordinator of the Year Award on October 5, 2017 at the NC School Library Media Association’s (NCSLMA) annual conference. Each year, the award is presented to an outstanding media coordinator that supports his/her school by creating unique opportunities to support literacy. In addition, he/she is a leader in technology, curriculum development and professional development. Board Cork news Rowan County Chamber Honors Dr. Moody The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, Mr. Tim Norris, presented a contribution to Rowan Partners for Education in honor of Dr. Moody. Rowan Partners for Education provides mini teacher grants and other funding opportunities to RSS educators and students to support innovating and engaging student work. The announcement was made following Dr. Moody's presentation at the Chamber's Power in Partnership Breakfast on Thursday, September 21st, at Trinity Oaks. Welcome to the Family! The Rowan-Salisbury School System welcomed its newest employees with a party on Saturday, September 30. Employees and their families were treated to a fun morning with music, games, freebies, and, of course, food. Staff members had the opportunity to meet with representatives from local businesses and services who were on hand to welcome the employees to the district. They were also each given a welcome packet with a goodie bag filled with gifts, coupons and informational flyers on local businesses and services. We are thankful for the support of Sharonview Federal Credit Union, Western & Southern Life, Mark III Employee Benefits, Grand Canyon University, Livingstone College, State Employees’ Credit Union and First Baptist Church.
