Theresa Pierce and Jesse Carson High School teacher Kelly Reynolds, with
input from Dr. Julie Morrow, RSS Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and
Instruction; Eisa Cox, RSS Executive Director of Secondary Education; and
Dr. Rhonda Truitt, Chair of Catawba’s Teacher Education Department. These

The Superintendent’s newly formed Student Leadership Team, is a group
of 47 highly motivated high school students interested in developing their
leadership skills and improving education through the district’s Strategic Plan.
Working with the Superintendent, this team is collaborating and ‘thinking
outside the box’ to create innovative ideas to move the Strategic Plan forward
for improved teaching and learning through CCRP (Collaboration, ConnectedLearning, Relevancy, Personalization). Student Leadership members may
be asked to present these innovated ideas and recommendations to the
Administrative Team, School Board, as well as Business and Community
Partners.
The Student Leadership Team represents high school students from
North Rowan, East Rowan, South Rowan, West Rowan, Salisbury, Carson, and
Early College high schools. The team meets monthly with Superintendent Dr.
Lynn Moody, Executive Director of Secondary Education Eisa Cox and Public
Information Officer Rita Foil.
