National School Nurse Appreciation Day
As we celebrate National School Nurse Appreciation Day on May 9th , Rowan-Salisbury Schools says a great big “ THANK YOU ” to our school nurses for their inspiration in the care they give to children . Nurses are advocates to our children for health and safety and we are grateful for all they do each and every day .

Approximately 115 high school students auditioned on February 17 at West Rowan HS for this year ' s all county chorus . Eighty-five were selected to represent North , Carson , South , West , and East . Those eighty-five students came together on April 12 at East to begin preparations for this year ' s concert . That concert will also include the middle school all county chorus .
Dr . Marc Foster from High Point University directed the high school chorus , with Mr . Lee Made , retired high school choral director from Lexington High School directing the middle school chorus . The concert was held in East Rowan High School auditorium on Friday April 20 , 2018 at 6:30 p . m . The concert was free and open to the public .

School Makes List of Top 100 U . S . Schools Teaching Personal Finance
East Rowan High School students performed among the highest in the entire country on the Wise ( Working in Support of Education ) standardized Financial Literacy Certification Test and earned the spot # 64th on the “ 100 Best Wise High Schools Teaching Personal Finance ” national ranking !

FBLA would like to announce the winners from the NC State FBLA Leadership Conference that they attended this week :

Tyler Johnson & Jacob Kisamore – Placed 2nd in Marketing and will be representing North Carolina and East Rowan High School in Baltimore , MD this summer .
ERHS FBLA won Largest Local Chapter Membership in the Northwest Region – 1st time to ever win this award !
