Ceremonies Surround The Opening
For The New WALLACE EDUCATIONAL FORUM
March 14 , 2016 was a big day for Rowan-Salisbury Schools ! The Superintendent ’ s Student Leadership Team officially opened the district ’ s new administrative office building – Wallace Educational Forum – to the public . The Student Leadership Team is comprised of approximately 45 high school students from across the district . It was important to have students be the first to present to the public in the new facility that operates as the central location for all 35 schools , 20,000 students and 3,000 staff in the Rowan-Salisbury Schools . F & M Bank sponsored a luncheon immediately following the student presentation . The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education held their first meeting in the new facility following the Student Leadership presentation and luncheon . The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held at 5:00 p . m . Superintendent Dr . Lynn Moody welcomed guests that filled the Board of Education meeting room with overflow into the hallway . Students representing all 35 schools participated in the event .
Board of Education Chair Josh Wagner provided brief comments acknowledging “ Thank You ’ s ” to community partners for their contributions :

Board of Education member Dr . Richard Miller also provided remarks followed by Assistant Superintendent of Operations Anthony Vann who recognized :

Ted Goins , Chairman of the Board for the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce led the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony .
Chairman Wagner invited all in attendance to the Chamber ’ s “ Business After Hours ” event that included touring the new Wallace Educational Forum and enjoying refreshments prepared by the RSS School Nutrition Department .
Rowan-Salisbury Administrative staff was stationed throughout the facility to host visitors !
The Wallace Educational Forum continues to see a great deal of traffic . Not only does the Forum stay busy with the everyday operations of the Rowan- Salisbury Schools , including Board of Education meetings , district training events and day-to-day functions , local and state meetings are filling up the Forum ’ s calendar .
With Discovery Education , Rowan-Salisbury Schools co-hosted the “ Leadership Symposium of the Carolinas ” that welcomed Superintendents from across North and South Carolina . During this two-day symposium , Rowan-Salisbury Schools highlighted the innovative advancements in our digital transformation that are happening in our schools . Educators also toured several of our schools to see these advancements in action .
Other state meetings are scheduled at the Forum in the near future , in addition to community business partners enjoying the new facility as well .

Summer Fun Kid ’ s Camp Pre-camp dates are May 17th and 19th from 9:45 a . m . to 11:45 p . m . Third day option can be added on and is May 21st at 1 p . m .
